INTROSPECT

Every now and then,
once in a while,
set aside some time
to stop what you are doing
and glance in the mirror
because it is important to keep
life in perspective.
Look at yourself
and ask your reflection
how you are doing.
Are you coping
with ups and downs,
stops and starts,
or are you stressing and behaving
in a manner you wish to change?
There is no better source
of objectivity and honesty
than you looking at you-
not just on the surface
but down deep where ideas,
thoughts, and morals orginate;
look at your heart.
The mind is busy
rationalizing your behavior,
but your heart tells you
how you feel about your present behavior.
Whether your refelction gives you
a positive or negative answer
is not what is most important;
what is most important is
that you care enough about yoruself
to look in the mirror and ask the question.
