A very sad trend right now is the destruction of America's middle class. Lately it has been painful to see the effects of Obamacare. Regardless of your political beliefs, the evidence is obvious, the new law out of Washington D.C. is hurting people economically. 74% of small businesses will fire or cut hours under Obamacare according to the Chamber of Commerce.
This idea that your employer is responsible for health care is an absolute tragedy. Instead of bettering ourselves, the government has created a nation of busy bodies and tyrants who want to forcefully take and mandate the decisions of others when it comes to their wealth, property, and businesses.
Last week a story by NBC reported that a local Subway owner in the South was reducing 50 workers to less than 29 hours per week in order to not trigger the provision in the new health care law that requires employers to offer coverage to employees who work 30 hours or more per week. We have seen this all across the country, yesterday Forever 21 announced that it will be reducing full time non-management positions to 29.5 hours per week.
Below is the internal memo from the company.
